![]() ![]() ![]() takes the form of a boxed kit with two plastic trays of game pieces: one with cardboard cutouts of ingredients you are likely to find on an Italian pie and the other currency in the form of rectangular cardboard bills and coins of various denominations. On Thursday, the Osmo team took the wraps off Pizza Co., an augmented-reality game that teaches kids about managing money responsibly. It is a winning idea that landed among Time’s 25 Best Inventions of 2014 and it is one with what are proving to be very, very long legs. The Palo Alto, California-based company’s seven games make use of an iPad, said iPad’s camera, and a snap-on mirror to blend reality with what the company’s founder, Pramod Sharma, calls “magic”– animated characters that react to real-life objects. Osmo is not exactly the new kid on the augmented reality block, so to speak. ![]()
